Perfection...To Be Or Not To Be....That Is The Question.

What is your idea of perfection? Is it being the perfect wife and mother? Is it being the best at your job? Is it a combination of all three? Is it being a size 0?

Well, for me perfection comes at a huge price. Nobody's perfect and we have to keep reminding ourselves that we are human. We are going to make mistakes. We cannot be the perfect mother, cook, maid, employee at ALL times. Something would have to give. You would either spend all your time and focus on one thing, ignoring everything else.

We all need a balance. To find our own personal "happy medium" so to speak. The word "perfect" means different things to different people. If you try to be what someone else expects you to be, or wants you to be, you will end up one of the unhappiest people on this earth.

Do what makes YOU happy. Whether it's being a stay-at-home mom, a career oriented person, someone who loves a messy house, or a neat-freak. We all have obligations that sway us in one direction or another but we can still be true to who we are.

Now, don't get me wrong. You can always work on aspects of your life that need improvement, but just don't do something because someone else says "its the right thing to do" or because they think this is what "it should be like"

You are the only person on the face of the earth that knows how to reach your own personal version of 'YOUR PERFECT".

How many times have you SAHM's out there gotten "the look" when you told others what you do for "a living?". I'm sure eating bon bons and watching soaps are right at the top of your to-do lists. :)

What about you working moms that spend too much time at work(according to others) or spend too much time away from home?

Seems if you are at home, you should be working and vice-versa. Seems it's a lose-lose situation. You CANNOT, I repeat CANNOT please everyone. Please yourself and your family and do what is best for you and you will find that "happy medium".

***I apologize for getting a little off-topic here but just thought I'd add this little bit of useless dribble. :)
